Landlords may change month-to-month lease terms with 15 days written notice before the month expires, and changes take effect if the tenant continues occupying the premises.

Local governmental units are prohibited from enacting or enforcing ordinances that control the amount of rent charged for private residential property.

Landlords must provide tenants with 30 days written notice before increasing rent or 60 days written notice before nonrenewal for leases entered into on or after July 1, 2023.

The act becomes effective on July 1, 2023, with an emergency declaration.
