Establishes that any person who violates a provision of the International Fire Code as adopted by the state of Idaho is guilty of a misdemeanor.

Maintains adoption of the International Fire Code, 2000 edition, with appendices published by the International Code Council, Inc., and any later editions adopted by the state fire marshal as minimum standards for fire and explosion protection.

Preserves exemption for detached single-family dwellings on 5+ acres outside incorporated cities from water supply and access requirements, unless a county ordinance requires compliance.

Allows counties to expand exemptions for single-family dwellings by reducing minimum parcel size requirements after public hearing with proper notice to affected fire agencies.

Becomes effective July 1, 2024, with the legislature declaring an emergency to justify immediate enactment.
