Establishes a Maternal Mortality Review Committee within the Department of Health and Welfare to conduct comprehensive, multidisciplinary reviews of maternal deaths in Idaho and identify preventable causes.

Committee shall consist of at least 14 members including five physicians (family medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, maternal fetal medicine, rural medicine, and pathologist/medical examiner), nurses, nurse midwife, coroner, social worker, EMS provider, public health representative, and two legislative members.

Committee proceedings, statements, records, and information are confidential and privileged, with participants afforded protections under Idaho peer review laws and federal law.

Department shall deliver annual reports to the governor and legislative health and welfare committee chairs by June 30 each year, with findings made available to health care providers and the public, including prioritization of the most preventable causes of maternal mortality.

Requires health care providers, facilities, law enforcement, coroners, and other relevant agencies to provide information to the committee upon request; bill sunsets July 1, 2030; effective July 1, 2024.
