Establishes that police officer membership status for PERSI (Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho) may only be fixed by law, effective July 1, 2024.

Limits future police officer member status designation to additional categories of employees engaged in hazardous duty who become superannuated due to arduous physical requirements, explicitly excluding stress as a sufficient hardship.

Requires the PERSI board to provide recommendations to Idaho legislative committees considering any proposal to add new employee classes or increase police officer member status.

Maintains existing police officer member designations for specific state, county, and city law enforcement positions, corrections staff, conservation officers, emergency medical technicians, and certain judicial and investigative personnel.

Effective date is July 1, 2024, with an emergency declaration to allow immediate implementation.
