Drivers of commercial vehicles compliant with muffler and noise-suppressing system requirements may allow vehicles to idle while parked for resting or sleeping to operate heating or air conditioning systems.

Auxiliary power units may be used to provide heating or air conditioning to commercial vehicles while parked.

Commercial vehicles in compliance with muffler requirements and equipped with refrigeration while parked are permitted to operate while carrying perishable commodities, pharmaceuticals, or both.

Technical corrections made to Section 49-937, Idaho Code, including grammatical changes to existing muffler and noise prevention provisions.

Act becomes effective July 1, 2024, with emergency declaration.
