Amends Idaho Code Section 37-2732 to establish a minimum fine of $420 for possession of marijuana in amounts less than three (3) ounces net weight, changing the penalty from discretionary to mandatory.

Possession of marijuana in amounts greater than three (3) ounces remains a felony punishable by up to five (5) years imprisonment and/or a fine up to $10,000.

Possession of marijuana in amounts less than three (3) ounces is classified as a misdemeanor with a mandatory minimum fine of $420.

Courts may order restitution for law enforcement investigation costs upon conviction of drug-related felonies or misdemeanors, including expenses for evidence, travel, and prosecution costs.

Bill becomes effective July 1, 2024, and is declared an emergency measure.
