Senate Bill 1226 Summary

• Adds "space force" to the definition of "armed forces" in Idaho Code sections 49-102, 65-502, and 67-9403 to include the U.S. Space Force alongside the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Air Force.

• Amends Section 49-415D to add "space force" to the list of military service branches whose members and dependents are eligible to receive support through the Support Our Troops license plate program.

• Makes technical corrections throughout Idaho Code including fixing code references, removing redundant language, and correcting grammatical errors related to "byproducts."

• Declares an emergency and makes the act effective on July 1, 2024.
