Removes the exception in subsection (6) for police officer and firefighter members who retire at age 50 or older and are reemployed within 30 days, making them subject to the general reemployment rules instead of the special provisions that previously applied to them.

Renumbers the employer reporting responsibility section from subsection (7) to subsection (6), requiring employers to immediately report retired member employment to the retirement board.

Eliminates the sunset provision for the police officer and firefighter reemployment exception that was scheduled to expire June 30, 2027.

Maintains existing provisions allowing certain retired members (school employees, public safety officers, and pre-January 1, 2022 retirees) to continue receiving benefits without accruing additional service upon reemployment.

Declares an emergency, making the bill effective immediately upon passage and approval.
