Applicants for voluntary naturopathic doctor licensure must possess current, valid, unrestricted licensure in at least one qualifying medical profession: medical doctor, doctor of osteopathy, podiatrist, dentist, chiropractor with accredited doctoral degree, or advanced practice registered nurse with accredited nursing doctorate.

Applicants must have a valid doctoral degree in naturopathy, completed post-graduate naturopathy program from board-approved accredited institution, or equivalent training demonstrating minimum competency in naturopathic health care.

Applicants must complete one of three options: two years of naturopathic health care experience (one year predoctoral, one year postdoctoral), pass an Idaho state examination approved by board and American naturopathic medical certification board, or pass any accredited national board examination certifying minimum competency.

Licensed naturopathic doctors must display their license conspicuously at their place of business and may use alternate titles "licensed doctor of natural health" or "licensed naturopathic practitioner."

Act takes effect immediately upon passage and approval with emergency declaration.
