Petition circulators accepting payment must verbally notify potential signatories that they are being paid and disclose the name of the person or entity providing payment before collecting signatures.

Paid petition circulators must wear a clearly visible badge displaying "paid petition circulator" at all times while gathering signatures, with specifications to be defined by the Idaho Secretary of State.

Each page of a petition circulated by a paid gatherer must prominently display a legible declaration stating the circulator is receiving payment and naming the payor.

Petitions circulated in violation of the disclosure requirements in subsection (2) are void, as are petitions obtained by non-residents or using electronic signatures.

The act becomes effective July 1, 2024, and authorizes the Secretary of State to establish rules regarding font specifications for printed declarations and badge specifications.
