School districts must develop background check systems for all persons with unsupervised contact with K-12 students, including checks against the Idaho sex offender central registry

Each school must create and maintain a board-approved emergency operations plan developed in coordination with local staff and emergency response agencies, reviewed annually for updates

Plans must meet guidelines adopted by the Idaho School Safety and Security Advisory Board

All school district staff must receive initial and annual emergency operations training on conducting exercises and responding to emergencies per state advisory board guidelines

Records and information generated from emergency operations plans and training are exempt from public disclosure; effective date is July 1, 2025
