School districts must implement background checks for all persons with unsupervised contact with students in K-12 settings, including verification against Idaho's sex offender central registry

Each school must create and maintain an emergency operations plan approved by the school board, developed in coordination with local staff and emergency response agencies, and reviewed annually for updates

Emergency operations plans must meet guidelines adopted by the Idaho School Safety and Security Advisory Board

All school district staff must receive initial and annual emergency operations training on conducting exercises and responding to emergencies per state advisory board guidelines

Effective July 1, 2025, with emergency declaration for immediate implementation upon that date
