Owners of individual life insurance policies with face amounts exceeding $50,000 may request lapse or termination notices be sent via USPS certified mail with return receipt requested

Certified mail requests must be submitted in writing at least 90 days before a lapse or termination, and insurers must acknowledge receipt in writing

Certified mail notices must be sent at the insurer's expense at least 10 days prior to the effective lapse or termination date; insurers have no further obligation if the mail is undeliverable or refused

Updates the applicability date from January 1, 2018 to January 1, 2026 for individual life insurance policies issued or in force

Declares an emergency with an effective date of July 1, 2025
