Prohibits deed restrictions, covenants, and homeowner's associations from entirely banning chicken ownership on single-family residential properties of at least 0.25 acres

HOAs may adopt reasonable rules regarding chicken housing, manure/odor management, and restrictions on roosters, but cannot impose undue burdens on raising chickens for personal use

Defines "chickens" as domesticated fowl (genus Gallus) raised for noncommercial egg/meat production for household consumption or trade

City, county, and local ordinances take precedence over the state provisions; the law does not apply to multifamily housing or agricultural/rural zones where poultry is already permitted

Effective July 1, 2025 as emergency legislation
