Removes "employee" from the list of persons prohibited from providing funeral services for deaths investigated by a coroner, leaving only licensed funeral directors, morticians, owners, and proprietors subject to the restriction

Coroners who are also funeral professionals (or their associated establishments) remain prohibited from performing funeral services or furnishing materials for bodies whose deaths they investigate, except for ambulance services

Violations constitute a misdemeanor offense

Exemptions apply to counties with only one licensed funeral establishment or counties with populations under 20,000 according to the most recent federal census

Declared an emergency measure with an effective date of July 1, 2025
