Idaho State Board of Education required to collect aggregated data on immigration status, nationality, and primary language from all public higher education institutions, charter schools, and school districts

Immigration status categories include lawful permanent residents, U.S. nationals, qualified aliens, and non-qualified aliens (those unauthorized and not lawfully admitted)

Data collection intended to help the legislature estimate education costs and assess financial impact of federal immigration policy on Idaho

Collected data restricted to analysis purposes only and prohibited from being used to discriminate against any student; subject to existing data protection and privacy requirements under Section 33-133

State Board of Education must submit annual report to legislature with aggregated data; effective date July 1, 2026
