New $75 late fee for failing to renew vehicle registration within 30 days of expiration, also deposited in the state highway account

Late renewal fee exemption available when owner notifies the department that a vehicle is not in use and will not be operated on state highways

Fee may be waived when renewing or issuing a new registration for the vehicle

Effective date of July 1, 2026, with emergency clause declaration
