Soil conservation district supervisor elections scheduled for November 2026 will be moved to the third Tuesday in May 2027, and elections scheduled for November 2028 will be moved to the third Tuesday in May 2029, with four-year terms for both.

Mail ballot precincts must now mail ballots between 45 days (previously 24 days) and 11 days (previously 14 days) before election day.

County commissioners must complete canvassing of election results within 9 days after the election, reduced from the previous 10-day requirement.

Sections addressing mail ballot timing and canvassing deadlines take effect July 1, 2026; the permanent soil conservation district election code changes take effect July 1, 2029.
