Removes the fixed 6,000-hour professional experience requirement for career technical education (CTE) teaching certificates, replacing it with "adequate" professional experience as determined by the state board for career technical education

Reduces required professional experience for bachelor's degree holders seeking CTE certificates from 2,000 hours to "adequate" experience as determined by the state board

Maintains existing pathways to CTE certification: approved industry certification, professional experience, or a combination of a baccalaureate degree plus experience in a related field

Applicants must still pass a criminal history check and complete an educator training program approved by the division of career technical education

Declared an emergency measure with an effective date of July 1, 2026
