Juvenile probation officers may arrest juvenile probationers without a warrant for probation violations occurring in the officer's presence, matching authority currently held by misdemeanor probation officers under Section 20-227(5), Idaho Code.

Juvenile probation officers may execute court-issued warrants, probation violation warrants, or other court orders directing that a juvenile probationer be taken into custody.

Officers may transport juvenile probationers between courts, detention facilities, treatment programs, placements, or counties as authorized by the court.

Authority is limited to enforcement of existing probation conditions and applies only to juveniles subject to those orders and conditions.

Effective date: July 1, 2026, with emergency declaration.
