IL HB0066

Amends the Code of Civil Procedure (735 ILCS 5/9-110) regarding eviction actions for residential premises.

Allows courts to stay enforcement of eviction judgments for up to 10 days when a tenant is more than 90 days in arrears on rent.

Permits courts to grant stays exceeding 10 days if good cause is found, but only if the tenant agrees to pay pro rata rent under terms set by the court order.

Preserves existing provisions for stays of up to 60 days (or 180 days under certain conditions) in actions based on contracts for purchase of premises entered on or after July 1, 1962.
