Amends the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act to include firefighters and peace officers employed by school districts within the definition of "public employee" and "public employer."

Expands the definition of "fire fighter" to explicitly include those employed by school districts who are sworn or commissioned to perform fire fighter or paramedic duties.

Extends collective bargaining rights and protections under the Public Labor Relations Act to firefighters and peace officers working for school districts, bringing them under the same labor relations framework as other public sector fire fighters and peace officers.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
