IL HB1106

Amends the School Code Section 29-5 regarding state reimbursement for student transportation costs.

Prohibits the State Board of Education from deducting the number of early education program pupils from eligible pupils when calculating transportation reimbursement if those pupils are transported at the same time as other eligible students.

Maintains existing reimbursement formulas based on school district type (dual, elementary, or unit districts) with qualifying tax rates ranging from 0.05% to 0.07%.

Requires districts to maintain a 0.12% Transportation Fund tax rate to receive reimbursement exceeding 4/5 of transportation costs, with minimum reimbursement of $16 per eligible pupil transported.

Establishes allowable direct costs for transportation including driver salaries, vehicle maintenance, fuel, insurance, and depreciation allowances.
