IL HB1361

Amends the School Code Section 29-5 regarding state reimbursement for pupil transportation costs.

Prohibits the State Board of Education from deducting the number of pupils enrolled in early education programs from the count of pupils eligible for reimbursement when those early education pupils are transported at the same time as other eligible pupils.

Maintains existing reimbursement rates based on district type: 0.05% for dual districts with grades 9-12, 0.06% for elementary districts with grades K-8, and 0.07% for unit districts with grades K-12.

Requires school districts to maintain a minimum 0.12% Transportation Fund tax rate to receive reimbursement exceeding 4/5 of transportation costs.

Establishes a minimum reimbursement of $16 per eligible pupil transported.
