IL HB1806

Amends Section 11-1 of the Illinois Public Aid Code concerning discrimination in financial aid and social services programs.

Prohibits discrimination in granting financial aid or social services based on race, religion, color, national origin, sex, marital status, or political affiliation.

Allows the Department to treat individuals differently based on rights and responsibilities arising under law from marital status.

Establishes that participation in marriage promotion or family formation activities is voluntary and non-participation cannot affect eligibility for or receipt of financial aid or social services.

Preserves the limitation that federal funding restrictions apply to determining which classes of persons must be provided financial aid or social services.
