HB2132 - Higher Education Appropriations

• Appropriates $38.66 million from General Revenue Fund to Chicago State University for fiscal year ending June 30, 2010, plus $3.87 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds for personal services.

• Appropriates $47.61 million to Eastern Illinois University for fiscal year ending June 30, 2010, plus $3.79 million in Recovery Act funds for personal services.

• Appropriates funding to six additional state universities: Governors State ($25.99 million), Illinois State ($80.45 million), Northeastern Illinois ($39.25 million), Northern Illinois ($102.97 million), Southern Illinois ($217.65 million), and Western Illinois ($56.39 million), with corresponding Recovery Act supplements.

• Appropriates $697.90 million to University of Illinois for fiscal year ending June 30, 2010, plus $53.35 million in Recovery Act funds for personal services.

• Appropriates $81.71 million from General Revenue Fund to Illinois Community College Board for distribution to public community colleges for grants and workforce development, plus $191.84 million from Education Assistance Fund and $24.60 million for discretionary grants, with additional $16.04 million in Recovery Act funding.

• Takes effect July 1, 2009.
