• Prohibits firearm carry in federal facilities and private establishments that post conspicuous signage, but allows secured firearms in locked vehicles and prevents landlords from restricting tenant firearm possession.

• Voids local ordinances inconsistent with the Act, making firearm carry regulation an exclusive state power; establishes criminal penalties for violations ranging from Class C to Class A misdemeanors depending on offense severity.

• Effective January 1, 2010.
