Extends the statute of limitations for civil actions against the Metropolitan Transit Authority from 6 months to one year from the date of injury or when the cause of action accrued

Changes the notice requirement deadline from 6 months to one year, after which the Authority is no longer obligated to furnish a copy of Section 41 to the injured person

Requires written notice to the Authority's Board secretary and General Counsel within one year, including details such as the injured person's name, date and location of accident, and attending physician information

Provides that failure to furnish notice by the Authority does not result in dismissal of civil actions against it, with compliance liberally construed in favor of the claimant

Applies these changes only to causes of action that accrue on or after the effective date of the amendment, with the Act taking effect immediately upon passage
