HB2308 Summary

• Changes the general primary election from the first Tuesday in February to the third Tuesday in March in presidential election years and the first Tuesday in August in gubernatorial election years

• Amends campaign finance reporting requirements to apply the same filing deadlines and procedures to primary elections as to general elections

• Modifies restrictions on printing and mailing of legislators' newsletters and brochures to begin 45 days before a primary election (instead of December 15) and end the day after the primary election

• Makes conforming changes to the Election Code, General Assembly Compensation Act, and Legislative Commission Reorganization Act of 1984

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
