• Removes the limitation that physicians may supervise no more than 2 physician assistants, allowing supervision of an unlimited number.

• Requires supervising physicians to file a notice of supervision with the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation for each physician assistant under their supervision.

• Establishes that supervision must be continuous but does not require the physical presence of the supervising physician at the time and place services are rendered, including allowing services in geographically remote settings.

• Mandates supervising physicians ensure the physician assistant's scope of practice is identified, delegated tasks are appropriate to their competence level, and a performance evaluation process is established.

• Amends the Medical Practice Act to remove the limitation that physicians may enter into supervising physician agreements with no more than 2 physician assistants.
