• Establishes a Class 1 felony penalty if the defendant obstructed the prosecution or defense of a Class X felony.

• Establishes escalating penalties for obstructing justice related to lower-level offenses: Class 2 felony for Class 1 felonies, Class 3 felony for Class 2 felonies, and Class 4 felony for Class 3 and 4 felonies and all misdemeanors.
