IL HB2627

Amends the Juvenile Court Act of 1987 to modify detention rules for minors arrested on delinquency charges.

Requires minors under 12 years old detained in county jails or municipal lockups to have no contact by sight, sound, or otherwise with adult prisoners.

Establishes consultation requirement with State's Attorney before releasing minors charged with serious offenses including murder, sexual assault, robbery, arson, kidnapping, burglary, and home invasion.

Allows use of a scorable detention screening instrument to bypass the State's Attorney consultation requirement, except when the instrument is not used or when officers deviate from the screening results.

Repeals previous provisions regarding detention standards for minors 12 years or older in county jails, replacing them with blank language.
