IL HB2659

Creates the Local Government Compliance with Federal Immigration Law Act requiring all officials, personnel, and agents of municipalities and counties to fully comply with and support enforcement of federal immigration law.

Prohibits municipalities and counties from restricting their officials, personnel, or agents from requesting, obtaining, exchanging, or maintaining information regarding an individual's immigration status.

Requires implementation of the Act in a manner consistent with federal immigration law and that protects the civil rights of all U.S. citizens and aliens.

Prohibits municipalities and counties from preventing their officials, personnel, or agents from rendering emergency medical care or other public benefits mandated by federal or state law.

Prohibits municipalities and counties from preventing their officials, personnel, or agents from reporting criminal activity to law enforcement agencies.
