IL HB3607

Amends the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act to include compliance with the federal Fair Housing Act (42 U.S.C. 3601 et seq.) and Illinois Human Rights Act (Sections 3-101 through 3-106 and Section 6-101) as minimum standards for establishments.

Requires substantial compliance with federal Fair Housing Act and Illinois Human Rights Act as a condition for license issuance and mandates denial of applications if establishments are found in violation by HUD, a court, or the Illinois Human Rights Commission.

Prohibits establishments from refusing disabled persons reasonable modifications to dwelling units at the person's own expense and from refusing reasonable accommodations in rules, policies, practices, or services necessary for equal dwelling access.

Establishes that license suspension, revocation, or renewal refusal must occur if establishments violate Fair Housing Act or specified sections of Illinois Human Rights Act, with no license restoration until all ordered relief is complied with and violations are remedied.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
