Appropriates $10,200,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Human Services for a grant to The Autism Program for an Autism Diagnosis Education Program for young children.

The Autism Program of Illinois, established by P.A. 93-9395 and expanded by P.A. 95-707, operates the largest statewide system of autism care in the country.

The Autism Program Service Network includes 12 Regional Centers, 2 Outreach Centers, and numerous training programs involving over 30 agencies and universities.

Between FY2006-FY2008, The Autism Program provided more than 20,000 clinical contacts and trained more than 19,000 parents and providers in evidence-based services, workforce development, and resources.

The Act takes effect July 1, 2009.
