IL HB4015

Adds State highway maintenance workers employed by Illinois Department of Transportation and Illinois State Toll Highway Authority to the list of positions eligible for alternative retirement annuity calculations under the Illinois Pension Code.

Specifically includes highway maintainers, maintenance lead workers, equipment operators, welders, and related maintenance positions whose principal responsibility is performing actual roadway maintenance to keep state highways and tollways in serviceable condition.

Allows certain Illinois State Toll Highway Authority employees in carpenter shop manager or supervisor positions with prior creditable service in structural or painter positions to convert that service to alternative formula service credit upon written application.

Modifies Section 14-152.1 to exclude benefit increases from this amendatory act of the 96th General Assembly from the 5-year expiration requirement that applies to other new benefit increases enacted after June 1, 2005.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
