IL HB4327

Prohibits installation or repair of tinted film, reflective material, or other window treatments on front windshields and side windows adjacent to the driver, with a non-reflective tinted film exception limited to 6 inches from the top of the windshield.

Requires installers of medical window treatments to obtain and maintain copies of physician certification documenting the patient's qualifying medical condition (lupus, albinism, porokeratosis, or similar sun-sensitivity conditions).

Allows window treatments for vehicles owned by individuals with qualifying medical conditions or used to transport such individuals, provided a physician's certified statement is carried in the vehicle and renewed annually with a copy submitted to the Secretary of State.

Establishes penalties of $50-$500 for first violations and Class C misdemeanor with $100-$500 fines for subsequent violations, with mandatory correction of non-conforming windows.

Requires the Secretary of State to notify new residents registering vehicles of window tinting requirements and post these requirements on their website.
