Appropriates $27,764,492 total ($27,064,492 from state funds and $700,000 from federal funds) to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for fiscal year beginning July 1, 2009.

Provides $15,994,255 from the Fire Prevention Fund and $3,246,037 from the Underground Storage Tank Fund for general office expenses including personal services, employee benefits, contractual services, equipment, and telecommunications.

Allocates $3,390,300 in grants payable from the Fire Prevention Fund, including $1,950,300 for Chicago Fire Department Training Program and $950,000 for payments to local governmental agencies participating in State Training Programs.

Appropriates additional funds for specific programs: $780,900 for public safety shared services center, $475,000 for Elevator Safety and Regulation Act administration, $185,000 for Illinois Firefighters' Memorial maintenance and ceremonies, and $2,000,000 for small equipment grants.

Act takes effect July 1, 2009.
