• Amends the Open Meetings Act to add a new exception allowing closed meetings to discuss confidential information related to elder abuse fatality reviews conducted by elder abuse fatality review teams designated under the Elder Abuse and Neglect Act.

• Requires review team members seeking to disclose confidential information in a closed meeting to first state on the record during an open meeting the nature of the information and the legal basis for keeping it confidential.

• Applies to reviews of deaths of elderly persons in which abuse or neglect is suspected, alleged, or substantiated.

• Takes effect upon becoming law.
