IL HB5006

Amends the Unified Code of Corrections Section 3-2-2 to authorize the Department of Corrections to issue orders for the arrest of persons who abscond or absent themselves without authority from any facility or program to which they are assigned.

Orders must be certified by the Director, Supervisor of the Apprehension Unit, or designated person with the Department seal affixed, and directed to sheriffs, coroners, police officers, or other named individuals.

Issued orders serve as sufficient warrant for officers to arrest and deliver the person to proper correctional officials and are executed the same as criminal process.
