IL HB5231

Amends the Criminal Code of 1961 to create an exemption to the prohibition on carrying firearms in facilities licensed to sell intoxicating beverages and at public gatherings where admission is charged.

Allows owners of such facilities and their employees to possess firearms if the owner has given explicit permission to do so.

Maintains existing prohibitions on firearm possession in these locations for all other individuals.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
