HB5366 Summary

• Eliminates specific rank requirements for the three active policemen members of the Retirement Board of the Policemen's Annuity and Benefit Fund, allowing any employed city policemen to serve instead of requiring one lieutenant or superior rank, one sergeant, and one investigator or lower rank.

• Changes language to allow all three employed policemen board members (rather than only the investigator-ranked member) to be detailed by the Police Superintendent to the board office for the duration of their terms as trustees.

• Removes restrictions on voting in active policemen board elections by eliminating the requirement that voters be of the same rank class as the candidates they are voting for.

• Removes provisions requiring the board secretary to be detailed to the board office by the police department head as an active policeman on assigned duty.

• Takes effect upon becoming law.
