Expands reasons for township office vacancies to include resignation of an officer or conviction for a disqualifying crime, which the township board must fill by appointment.

Adds that a written plea agreement to guilty for felony, bribery, perjury, or other infamous crime constitutes automatic resignation from office effective when the plea agreement is made.

Defines conviction as occurring on the date of guilty verdict return or, in court trial, the date of guilt finding entry.

Requires a special township meeting be called within 60 days if a township board vacancy is not filled by appointment.

Applies similar vacancy-filling and criminal disqualification provisions to hospital board of directors under township management.
