IL HB6076

Amends the Child Murderer and Violent Offender Against Youth Registration Act by expanding the definition of "violent offense against youth" to include aggravated battery of a child, aggravated battery of an unborn child, ritualized abuse of a child, domestic battery, aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery, and heinous battery when the victim is under 18 years of age.

Removes the requirement that the defendant cannot be a parent of the victim in order for an offense to qualify as a violent offense against youth.

Applies to violations of specified Criminal Code sections committed on or after January 1, 1996, or other applicable dates for specific offenses.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
