IL HB6748

Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law to create Section 605-1005 establishing a contingency allotment for the Retail Energy Efficiency Appliance Program's white goods appliances component.

Authorizes the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to reimburse program sellers for rebate costs that exceeded the federal allocation using the contingency allotment.

Contingency allotment may only be used after the Program expends its entire initial funding for rebates from April 16, 2010 through April 19, 2010 at noon.

If contingency funds are needed, the Program terminates at 6:00 pm on April 19, 2010, and the Department must release additional funds to the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance by May 10, 2010 for distribution to participants.

Total contingency allotment expenditures cannot exceed $3,400,000, with any unused funds deposited into the General Revenue Fund.
