IL HB6893

Prohibits Chicago Public Schools (Article 34 school districts) from administering State tests to students in grades K, 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7 that are designed for students more than 2 grade levels higher than the student's current or previous testing grade.

Applies to State tests administered under Section 2-3.64 of the School Code, which covers standardized assessments in reading, mathematics, writing, and science.

Restricts grade-level mismatch between a student's current placement and the difficulty level of the State test they are required to take.

Does not apply to students in grades 3, 6, or 8, or to school districts outside of Chicago.
