Director of Corrections may consider an inmate's documented conduct while incarcerated in any Department facility, county jail, juvenile detention center, or other penal institution, as well as conduct when not incarcerated, when determining whether to award good conduct credit for meritorious service.

Director may make a determination that based on an inmate's conduct, early release poses an elevated risk to public safety.

Bill amends the Unified Code of Corrections regarding good conduct credit awards and early release procedures for inmates.

Effective immediately upon becoming law.
