• Department of Corrections must establish uniform procedures for providing timely advance notice of early release to law enforcement in local jurisdictions and submit a report to the General Assembly by January 1, 2011.

• 14-day advance notice of early release due to good conduct credit for meritorious service must be provided to the Governor and sheriff of the county where prosecution occurred.

• Bill amends the Unified Code of Corrections sections governing good conduct credit rules and early release notification procedures.

• Effective immediately upon becoming law.
