Designates the portion of Herrin Road/County Road 2 between Interstate 57 and Highway 149 in Herrin, Williamson County as the U.S.M.C. Private Joseph W. Ozbourn Memorial Highway.

Private Joseph William Ozbourn was born in Herrin on October 24, 1919, and was awarded the Medal of Honor for gallantry in battle.

The USS Ozbourn, a U.S. Navy destroyer, was commissioned on March 5, 1946, at the Boston Naval Shipyard by Ozbourn's widow.

Multiple Herrin organizations including VFW-Southern Leathernecks, MCL-Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and the Elks Club are sponsoring the road renaming.

Illinois Department of Transportation is requested to erect plaques or signs at suitable locations along the renamed highway consistent with state regulations.
