Five Veterans Administration hospitals currently operate in Illinois: Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in Hines, Marion VA Medical Center in Marion, and North Chicago VA Medical Center in North Chicago

Fourteen outpatient clinics serve Illinois veterans in various locations including Aurora, Chicago, Elgin, Evanston, Joliet, Rockford, and other communities

Eight community-based outpatient clinics serve the remainder of Illinois veterans in locations including Belleville, Decatur, Galesburg, Peoria, Quincy, and Springfield

Urges Congress to establish a centrally-located Veterans Administration hospital in Peoria to address the lack of medical facilities for central Illinois veterans

Directs copies of the resolution to be sent to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and all members of the Illinois congressional delegation
